A few years ago now Harborne’s Clock Tower and surrounding school was closed down and barricaded in scaffolding due to roof issues. The heavy metal support look has been a mainstay of the High Street for quite some time now. So it was great when late last year the building renovations were finished and thanks to EDG Property, the School Yard project was revealed. I wondered up there to take a punter’s eye view of the new development.
There was also an official opening ceremony for the development which featured all things Christmas, including carol singing, mulled wine, roast chestnuts and even a snow machine. (That last one was a nice touch) Amongst all the guests actors mingled and danced in period costume, which was a really nice nod to the buildings history.
